I'm currently half way through the AXELOX Management of Risk (M_O_R 4) Practitioner course.
It's great complementary skillset alongside my existing legal and regulatory background and will provide clients with the additional confidence that I have an understanding of enterprise risk management and how to apply it in a practical context.
I look forward to updating this section with my Practitioner badge when it lands.
Those brilliant people at Insurance Post have published their podcast on M&A trends in 2025:

Some great insights on what to expect this year:
❌ 2025 is not the year of the 'mega merger', especially in broker space.
❓ The market is running out of tier 1 and tier 2 broker but possibilities exist in the small broker sector.
✅ More opportunities exist in the insurer space, especially insurers involved in fronting, as US carriers continue to grow and search out European/UK targets.
✅ The MGA sector is also very attractive, again mainly to US carriers looking for fast market entry to niche lines of business.
💳 Who are the acquirers? US carriers and PE firms in particular.
⛔ Constraints - as the market has already consolidated to such an extent, regulatory approval (especially from the CMA) is likely to be the biggest hurdle.
⚠️ Risks - beware the poaching of UW teams when acquiring an insurance portfolio. Current litigation suggests this is a costly error.
